Nook & Nest
Furniture for the flat you’ve actually got.
Almost everything under 800mm wide, for studio flats, box rooms, hallways and lofts. Every product says whether it needs a drill, and every one publishes the measurement that decides whether it gets through your door.
Box rooms
A box room is seven square metres of arithmetic.
A double mattress is 135 × 190cm and a small double is 120 × 190cm, and those 15cm are usually the difference between having a bedside table and not. You need 700mm down the side you make the bed from and 600mm at the foot. Which is why we make 300mm bedside tables and 600mm wardrobes.
For renters
Three labels, on every single product.
Freestanding
Nothing touches the wall. Stands on its own feet, safely, as supplied. 380 products.
No drilling needed
Fits without making a hole — tension-mounted, weighted, leaning or freestanding. 362 products.
Wall fixed, and we say so
This one has to be screwed to the wall. We put it in its own collection rather than the small print. 25 products.
Modular storage
Buy it in 800mm pieces, and take it with you.
Towers of 800mm modules that stack into a storage wall and come apart again for the next flat. Two towers of four here can be three towers of three there, or split between two rooms, because everything is the same width and everything unbolts.
Hallways
The hardest room in a flat isn’t a room.
It’s a corridor that has to hold coats, shoes, keys and post without stopping you walking down it. Leave 600mm of clear width to get past — 900mm if it’s the main route — and in a metre-wide hall that leaves you 250 to 400mm of depth. Which is exactly how deep our consoles and benches are.
