Ladder Shelf 700mm Wide with Five Shelves in Solid Ash
A 700mm bookcase at 300mm deep, which is deep enough for a hardback and shallow enough not to dominate a small room. Leans against the wall with no fixing at all.
Everything we sell is under 800mm wide. That is not a style, it is the constraint the whole range is designed around, because it is the measurement that decides whether a piece of furniture works in a small flat. Eight hundred millimetres is roughly the width of a standard internal door, the width of the gap most people have between a sofa and a wall, and the point past which a piece stops reading as part of the room and starts reading as an obstacle. Designing to it is harder than designing without it and it is the only interesting thing about furniture for small spaces.

Assembly
Flat packed, with a hex key, a spanner and printed instructions in the box. Fittings are cam locks and threaded steel inserts rather than chipboard screws, which is what lets a piece be taken apart and reassembled without the joints going loose. We reckon on three moves and have tested to ten.
If you are renting
Freestanding, no wall fixing needed and no holes in anybody's plaster. An anti tip strap is in the box if you want it and there is nothing to make good if you never use it. Felt pads are fitted to every foot as standard, because the other way to lose a deposit is a scratch across a floor you did not lay.
